Lemon Zest

One of my favorite colors to wear lately has been the neon yellow color, lemon zest! Growing up I actually despised wearing neon colors, I just didn't understand why anyone wanted to look like a giant glow stick! Although, now if you were to look at my wardrobe, you wouldn't believe that last statement! I've realized that yellows tend to look amazing on olive skin tones and darker, and to think it all started with a lemon zest colored scarf!

Dress: C/O Eshakti(similar), jacket: Forever21, heels: Nine West, belt: thrifted, jewelry: Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters

This fantastic dress is from the amazing site, Eshakti. Eshakti brings the customization and tailoring to your home, never again will you have to worry about whether or not the bodice of your dress is too tight or if the hem is too short. It's pretty amazing, especially if your vertically challenged! Eshakti literally embraces every woman's body and style. I'm absolutely in love with this dress, i'm already looking forward to having fun layering it in the fall and winter season!
If you're in the market for a new color this season, I suggest you give lemon zest a try! It is the absolute summer fun color and you can't help but be happy while wearing it! Dear readers, how do you feel about this color and how would you wear it?

Colorblocked Love.

Dress: C/O Sugarlips Apparel, jacket: Guess, shoes: Forever21, jewelry: Forever21, thrifted

Can I just say I'm extremely in love with this dress! The color, the fabric and the fit is perfect on me. It combines this seasons hottest trends, colorblocking, asymmetrical length and cut-outs. I knew when I saw this bad girl on Sugarlips Apparel, we'd have a lifelong relationship! More brownie points because my BF declared this his favorite dress on me! Can't wait to wear this dress to my many summer events! And when the autumn season arrives, it will be great for layering!

And now for a public service announcement, it's rude to stare! You ever get so many looks that you just want to turn around and say something? Unfortunately (or fortunately?!) since I have this wild head of hair and "eccentric" sense of fashion it kind of comes with the territory.

One of the most unique and versatile pieces in our closets are our maxi skirts. It can also be pretty confusing, since there's so many options with it. Yes, it's a skirt and you can wear it simply the way you see it, but what's the fun in that?!
Lengthy maxi skirts are the most fun, you get to play with a lot of fabric! One of my favorite thing to do is pin different parts of the hem in different areas of the skirt, it gives off a really neat draping affect. You could also use fancy, decorative pins, such as an embellished brooch. Or you could tie one side of the skirt in a knot, it looks really cool when you put the knot in the front. Another way of wearing this trend, is by wearing the skirt with a same colored top to create the illusion of a one piece. When I wear it this way, I 'll usually throw on a wide belt to hide waist bands, plus it also looks great! One of the other way to wear a maxi skirt, is to take one part of the hem and pull it up to the waist and tuck it in. This trick looks especially great with a hi- lo maxi skirt. I know it sounds strange but you can't knock it until you try it!
I hope that these few tips have vastly helped give you different ways to wear the maxi skirt this summer. There are a ton of more ways to wear this trend, both imaginative and creative, how will you be wearing it? The next time you see a maxi skirt in one of your favorite stores, don't hesitate in getting it, you will find that you have more than one option with it.

Black Stripes.

Top and Skirt: F21, Booties: Steve Madden, Necklace and Earrings: Street vendors, Tights: Urban Outfitters

I tend to wear stripes alot! It's a pattern that always makes me happy, no matter what color.  I usually base alot of my outfits in the winter season with black, this outfit is no different. I really just wanted the skirt to be in full focus, I love the teal blue, it reminds me that spring is just around the corner!
