(Ugly) Sweater Season

Just because Christmas is over, it doesn't mean that you should put your wacky sweaters away! It's still chilly out there and you need to layer up, why not do it in a fashionably, eccentric way?! Overly printed sweaters have so much personality and because of it, many are considered ugly or unappealing. I tend to find it charming, they add a lot of va-va-voom to any outfit! Unless you have one of those sweaters with Santa Claus' face all over it! That needs to get buried in your closet right away!
Funky sweaters look great paired with anything, over a dress, under a blazer, with a vest, skinny jeans, bell bottoms... the list can go on! You could even dress it up for a holiday party!
Sweater: Forever21, blouse: J.Crew, cape: American Apparel, skirt: thrifted, pumps: Shoedazzle, necklace: Jewelmint

How do you like to wear your eccentric sweaters? Is there a cap on how weird is too weird?!

Unisex, Revamped

Sweater and pants: American Apparel, scarf: H&M, trench: DIYed from Forever21,  shoes: Nastygal

Everyone of us has "that" sweater. The one that we wear for comfort and are okay if it isn't quite flattering. That is how I feel about this sweater, don't get me wrong, I love it! The fact that it is unisex makes it a plus! Tops and sweaters like this are the perfect combo for shopping escapades, dental visits, dog walking, movie date nights at home and endless more possibilities.
I used to think that unisex meant shapeless and ugly. Unisex is actually quite fun because it gives you and your SF (that's if you're okay with letting him/her borrow it!) styling options and its fun to see how they will wear it!

Next time you see this sweater, my BF will be wearing it in his own way. Style off!

Are You In the Club?

Jacket: DIY, blouse and booties: thrifted, jeans: Club Monaco, necklace: Forever21,  rings: H&M, gifted

Let me fill you in on one of my newest obsessions, Club Monaco! In a recent post, I mentioned my weight loss and my need to acquire more bottoms, specifically pants and jeans. Club Monaco's jeans really fit me like a glove, no gap at the waist or fabric bunching at the crotch and thigh area... all major plusses in my book! This particular pair is my favorite, its ankle length, which when you're my height, it means perfect length! It's also corduroy with a funky, burgundy colored print. These jeans are great for so many different events, dressed up or down it still looks great! I know that this print may be a bit too busy for some, but the key to pulling it off is by keeping it in the same color family and/ or print. Try to keep the "busy" on the bottom and the "calm" everywhere else, so it balances out.

If you're not familiar with Club Monaco, I totally recommend you check them out. Truly timeless and fashionable-for-all-occasions pieces.

Faux Outfit

A really fun way to transform a piece in your wardrobe is by pairing it with another piece of the same color. I do this a lot with my black pieces, it helps me create brand new faux dresses, rompers, and jumpsuits! This outfit, for example, my "faux" asymmetrical dress.

Bag won't close because i'm always carrying a lot of shenanigans!

Top: Forever21, skirt: Nastygal, heels: Zara, satchel: UrbanOutfitters, jewelry: Forever21, thrifted, H&M
I like the result of this "faux" look, it reminds me of a really funky shift dress from the Mod era. Ps, all of the photos were taken by my good friend, Chaucee!

One of the most popular patterns to reoccur this season are stripes. Vertical or horizontal, to striped blouses and striped pants, it is definitely a mainstay! One of the funkier ways of wearing it would be to wear it vertically and horizontal or small stripes with big stripes. One of my favorite ways to wear it, is by pairing stripes of different colors. Which ever way you wear your stripes just have fun with it and try it unconventionally!

Ps: I've recently discovered this really cool site that features a lot of independent and up and coming designers called Bloggers Wardrobe. It may seem like an online look book at first, but it's a actually a community for bloggers and designers. One of my favorite brands featured on the site is Tigers of Sweden, it's very feminine with a touch of bohemia added to the mix, love it!
