Summer Daze

It's the middle of summer here and in the eastern region of the USA, that means sky rocketing temperatures and humidity included. From sweating your makeup off to the horrible arm pit stains that creep up on you when you're wearing your favorite silk shirt, it's the essence of summer! Keeping layers super simple is of the utmost importance when it's 95 degrees, thats why having easy pieces to throw on and go is a wardrobe staple. Especially when your SO surprises you with a weekend trip to the south!

Recently, my boyfriend took me on a surprise weekend trip to Virginia for hiking, swimming and star gazing. I made sure to pack weather and activity appropriate pieces, this outfit was one of them. It was perfect for walking around and discovering new cities! Wearing all white in hot temperatures is probably the best option to stay cool. Lighter colors and layers are key to not passing out of a heat stroke! This is also the first time I had ever seen the Appalachian mountains. What an amazing sight it was to see one of America's natural beauties!

I'll admit, I have been wearing sneakers a lot more lately. I'm doing a ton of walking and going here and there that it just makes sense for me to travel in my trusty sneakers. Because of that, I try to build a more fashionable sneaker collection that goes with everything or most of what I own. As a minimalist, It's not too difficult. Chuck Taylors, my absolute favorite casual sneakers, inexpensive and quite fashion forward.

I have even tried my hand at styling my boyfriend. Luckily, he let me work my magic even if he was skeptical. Something I have noticed with many guys, is that most are afraid of wearing white jeans, as if the world is out to dirty their jeans! I practically live in my white pieces and nothing ever happens as long as you're aware of your surroundings.

Dear readers, I'd love to know how you dress for hot, summer vacations.
