Have you recently had that moment of realization that when it hits you, you probably can’t carry on with your current eating habits, at least not if you want to achieve your fitness goals? If so, it’s time to start assessing the sustainability of your current diet and how it can be made to work for you and your body in the long-term. It’s about making sure you don’t put your health at risk for short-term convenience and those hard to break habits. Since we're coming up on the end of one year, it's time to reconsider old habits and create new ones for the new year. After all, what would NYE resolutions be without health implications?!

Drink Yourself To Great Skin

Most people know that drinking water is the best way to heal your mind, body and soul. Water is essential to life, even our bodies are made up of 70% water and the earth is also mostly a large body of water. Did you also know that drinking more water can also help you with your skin? I tend to drink the amount needed everyday, at least a gallon of water to keep the doctor away! As easy as it is for me to just drink straight up room temperature water, I know that not many of my friends or family can do the same. A lot of my friends tell me that drinking water gets boring and then get tempted to drink a caffeinated beverage. While most dermatologists and doctors, like Dr. Christoper Calapai D.O. the anti aging expert and long time health advisor to the New York Rangers hockey team, preach the benefits of drinking more water it might be much more exciting to reach for something else, fortunately I tried some healthy and delicious water recipes to help remind you of just how delicious water really is!

Inside Out

The saying goes, "You are what you eat," it's a statement that stretches beyond nutrition and into the world of beauty. It's well known that certain foods can change your figure, but do you know that certain foods can also alter your skin's condition? Things like inflamed skin, acne, pimples and even premature aging can be caused by imbalanced hormones due to poor choices in food. Rather than spending thousands on products to topically improve our skin and hair, I try to eat better and healthier to improve my complexion and health. Fortunately the dermatologists and associates of Ogle School have put together a fun infographic that portrays the foods to consume and the ones to avoid for a much easier way to do your next grocery shopping because beauty never rests.

Living in Philadelphia has it's perks, from no tax shopping to so many cultural outings to experience. From a long list of fantastic places to go and see, it truly is a great city to experience a lot of different things. Of course, Philadelphia is also known for its veritable choices of food. As a huge connoisseur of food, I take every opportunity to enjoy the options and tell my friends about it too. Philly has a zillion cuisines from Mediterranean to Ethiopian or Thai, there truly is no limit in this city. The only challenging feat is where to find all of these restaurants! Thanks to a wonderful new app called Zomato, it's not too difficult!

Imagine this, you're getting dressed for a night out with your friends, or meeting your SO's family for the first time. You want to make a good impression for whatever the situation may be, you reach for that winning dress that you found at Free People, you put it on and then glide over to your full length mirror and see IT! It being your bloated belly, it happens and at the most inconvenient times. Whenever I am bloated, I feel like the grossest person in the world! It has a way of making you feel really uncomfortable. Fortunately, bloating is avoidable!

The World On A Plate

If you know me, then you must know I love food! I love fashion but it can't compare to my love for food. Food is nourishment for the mind and soul, food is the health and wellness that our bodies crave, food is love when nothing else will do. Obviously, I don't skimp when it comes to eating a tasteful cuisine, but have you ever wondered about the foods that define a certain region? How about the cuisines that pair better with a bordeaux wine versus a burgundy wine? I recently discovered an amazing book called The World On A Plate, by Mina Holland, which feeds the senses that satiate these questions and dozens more with an in depth view of each countries' specifics.
