Night 1: Exfoliation
Exfoliation night kicks off your cycle by sloughing away dead skin cells, allowing your products to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.
Goal: Clear dead skin cells, unclog pores, and prep skin for active ingredients.
- Cleanser: Gentle hydrating cleanser (Avocado Ceramide Moisture Barrier Cleanser)/ Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm
- Toner: Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner
- Exfoliant: Strawberry Smooth BHA + AHA Salicylic Serum
- Optional: Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum (if your skin leans dry or dehydrated)
- Moisturizer: Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer
Night 2: Retinoid Night
Traditionally, this is the night you’d use a retinoid. Glow Recipe has a gentler, alternative type of retinol with 16% triple-retinoid blend of Retinol, Retinal and Retinyl Ester.
Goal: Promote skin cell turnover and target fine lines and breakouts.
- Cleanser: Same gentle cleanser
- Serum: Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum (great skin for all skin types)
- Moisturizer: Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer
Nights 3 & 4: Recovery Nights
These two nights are all about hydration, nourishment, and barrier repair. This is when your skin heals and recharges. This is your skin’s “rest and recharge” phase, no actives, just comfort and moisture!
Goal: Rehydrate, calm, and repair the skin barrier.
- Cleanser: Gentle cleanser
- Toner: Cloudberry Bright Essence Toner
- Serum: Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum/ Niacinamide Dew Drops/ Guava Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum/ Pomegranate Peptide Firming Serum
- Eye Treatment: Guava Vitamin C Bright-Eye Gel Cream
- Moisturizer: Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer (or double up with Plum Plump Cream if skin feels dry)
Why Glow Recipe Is Perfect for Skin Cycling
Glow Recipe’s philosophy is all about balancing effectiveness with skin-loving ingredients. Their formulations are gentle enough for consistent use, yet powerful enough to yield results. Whether you’re new to actives or a seasoned skincare enthusiast, GR´s products make skin cycling simple, joyful, and effective.
If your skin’s been feeling dull, irritated, or just off-balance (this was me!), give skin cycling a try. With consistent use, you’ll start to notice smoother texture, fewer breakouts, and that signature dewy glow. This is a routine that my esthetician and I have come up for me, after so many years of using whatever, whenever, I finally figured out what has been working and improving my skincare.
Want to take your routine to the next level? Pair your skin cycling with a skincare journal to track how your skin reacts, so you can adjust products and nights to best suit your needs. This has helped me immensely especially when I introduce a new product.

Tip: Use 1–2 pumps of the serum. If new to acids, start with 1x/week and build up.
