I Dream In Pink

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

For some people, thinking about the color pink only comes one time of the year, like Valentine's day, the birth of a baby girl, breast cancer awareness month or mothers day. Practically anything to do with the fairer gender, is portrayed in pink. From the time that women are born, they are swamped with the pink, I have nothing against that. Without trying to sound like a cliche, I'm always in the mood for pink! As a child, pink was never my first choice. It was always every other color of the rainbow, it just depended on my mood for the week and what color my nails were painted! As I got older,  I really fell in love with femininity cue Shania Twain's "I Feel Like A Woman" and pink caught my eye! I've compiled a list of some of my favorite pink items as of late, take a look!

I Dream In Pink

I'm sure you know by now my long drawn out affection for wearing neutral colors, ahem black and white, but I'll still add touches of color here and there especially pink! When it comes to wearing colors, I like to do it in the most minimal way possible because I like to use color as an accessory. Wearing colors in that sense makes it easy for me to translate it to most of my ensembles.

My favorite way of wearing pink, is on my feet. A woman can never have too many shoes and having a pair of shoes in her favorite color is a must! Pink sneakers were a no brainer for me, an easy shoe to wear while running errands, going to appointments, or standing in line to at the DMV. Style and comfort are always at the forefront for me.

I'm an always on the go and usually carrying a lot from one place to the next. Rather than carrying a small bag, I'll usually carry a backpack that fits everything I need and why not use a backpack in a bright and fun color?! Bright magenta is a great and eye catching color that motivates me to want to carry more, although it's not really a good idea for my back!

Every woman has a set of pearl earrings in her jewelry armoire, but not many who have a set of pink pearls. Pearls are the ultimate feminine personification, it's probably the first style of earrings ever worn by women! Pink is just the cherry on the top, and I love it!

Lately, I've been really interested in tracking my activity, from the steps that I take, to the miles I travel in a day, to the calories I consume and the pace at which I'm moving. There are tons of activity trackers to choose from, I went with the most trusted brand in the game and stylish, I might add, Fitbit! The pink wristband adds a pep in my step and a bit of a quirk to my style!

One of the best places to add color to your look is on your nails. Our nails are like the accessory we forgot we had, it adds more dimension to the complete ensemble. I'm usually really lazy when it comes to my nails but when I do get the courage to devote some time for pampering, pink shades are always my go to! OPI's pink set has the perfect selection of pink shades and it provides you with quality so that you don't have to worry about chipped nails in the first couple of days!

Now that I've completely "girlified" myself, I hope you can take my infatuation with the color pink and render it into your looks. Dear readers, how do you feel about the color pink, are you as n love with it as I am?
