Lately, I've been thinking a lot about weddings and not because of me but because my best friend is getting married! Hanging out with her and all of the bridesmaids just remind me of how beautiful and magical weddings can be, from the venues to the decorations. Best part about weddings of course is the wedding dress! Who knew that there were so many styles of wedding dresses, up until recently I figured that there were only two styles and boy was I wrong! The dresses have a way of making the woman appear like queens and princesses of far away worlds, the drapery, the lace, the long train, the massive amounts of tulle and the list can go on. The same can definitely be said about Julie Vino's Fall 2017 Napoli collection! 

Thakoon Chic

As New York Fashion has already come to a close, I reflect back on the shows I've payed attention to. There were so many trends to pay attention to and so many to copy. One of the shows that really stood out to me was by Thakoon. Thakoon is best known for soft, billowy cocktail dresses and shift dresses, this collection was nothing like that and it was wonderful! The Fall Winter Ready To Wear collection featured a much more grungy, romantic gothic style that really encapsulated the 90s.

I have this great love affair with anything fashion, fashion is what wakes me up in the morning, fashion is what gets me going through the day, but most importantly fashion allows me to speak without actually speaking! The beauty in everything from nature to architecture is how fashion has embedded itself into our every day lives, and one fashion designer is seeking to sync her designs with our modern day lives. Paula Hian, a Philadelphia local is speaking to the world without the use of words but rather her illustrious designs.

When it comes to fashion, timeless style is of the essence. It's currently pre- fall season in the fashion world, the time in which brands debut what's to come for the autumn season and sometimes even showcase the heavier stuff for winter. The latest pre- fall collection that has me going gaga is the Ports 1961 Pre- Fall '16 assemblage. P61 is the embodiment of a minimalist's dream wardrobe, from the neutral palette to the clean lines and of course it's ability to easily layer with other pieces from the collection. Yeezy Chic

Has there ever been a much more highly anticipated fashion line to hit stores like Yeezy's season one collection?  I believe every one and their mother have been looking forward to this, me included. From the good, the bad and just downright analytical comments on Kanye West's Yeezy, there's definitely a fever pitch and it has only broken the ice! Since presenting his collection at New York Fashion Week, everyone has been fixated on West's next move.

I just can't get enough of beautiful minimalism. Crisp white lines, carefully executed black separates, ingenious drapes and shapes, while staying true to it's timeless and unique nature, without being overtly trendy. Minimalist fashion is something I truly admire, over the past year I've even cleaned up my wardrobe to be much more bare. No loud colors or of the moment pieces, I've carefully curated my closet to be something more timeless, something I can continue to grow with and wear for the next five or ten years. It wasn't easy but I found inspiration from so many brands and designers to fully acknowledge what it means to have a "minimalist" fashion sense. That is exactly how I found out about Public School New York!

Margiela Chic

One of the best parts about the Fashion Week season is getting to see the artisanal shows. Artisanal fashion shows construct and yet deconstruct the rules of fashion. Designs that explore new found ways of tailoring and craftsmanship to create something startling and unexpected. Sure, couture fashion pieces are not wardrobe friendly because of its unconventional style, forward thinking it's one of a kind uniqueness. A girl can still dream of walking out of the house in a high fashion piece, especially if it's a Maison Martin Margiela!

You might know that I am quite obsessed with fitness. I try to live a healthy lifestyle with daily activities and positive nutrition choices. Nutrition, is not that easy to figure out, at least for me it took a while to get it down to a science. When it comes to fitness activities, I've tried a handful of different routines and sessions to keep my mind focused and motivated one of them is martial arts tricking. Tricking is a combination of acrobatics, Capoeira, karate, gymnastics and Tae Kwon Do.  It's absolutely fun and never a dull moment practicing it! Practicing tricks, tucks and tumbles require attire with a lot of movement and forgiving fabrics. I recently discovered Swedish activewear brand Bjorn Borg that designs with you in mind to make you look "active and attractive."

Do you remember the first time you went swimsuit shopping? Do you remember feeling the dread and anticipation from it? I remember it like it was just yesterday, I needed something for my family vacation since I had just retired my old swimsuit which had a print with The Magic School Bus on it! As I approached a new and difficult phase of life, teenage years, I literally put away and donated anything that made me seem "babyish" because I wanted to prove to my family that I was mature and that I could be talked to as an adult! One of the tasks into "adulthood" was to get a sophisticated bathing suit, one that didn't scream out Hello Kitty, Barbie, or My Pretty Ponies.  The first swimsuit to make me feel like a lady was by RVCA.

Finding the perfect pair of shoes for any outfit can be the pinnacle of any ensemble. With Spring about a month away, it's the perfect time to experiment with fun shoe trends and for this upcoming season the minimalist, sporty look will be very fashion forward! Online retailer Shoedazzle, shows us how with their latest lookbook and has me craving for more fun footwear to add to my wardrobe!

Clover Canyon Resort 2014 Inspiration by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

A few years ago, while browsing through the Shopbop look books, I stumbled upon this fantastic collection of eclectic prints in streamlined silhouettes from Clover Canyon. That was all it took to spark my obsession with the brand! With the resort collections debuting left and right, it's only natural that I check out one of my favorite American made brands. As you know, resort collections fill in the gap between autumn/ winter and spring/ summer. Resort collections started off as bright summery pieces for those that were jetting off into warmer climates, now it offers a wide range of lifestyle pieces and a taste of what's to come with the next season. Clover Canyon's resort collection does just that, cocktail dresses, playsuits, casual dresses, pant suits, and jackets in their signature jubilee of prints, with Cuba as the muse. Something for everyone, and something for the not so "faint of heart!

Ofcourse, Clover Canyon brings their A game with this collection, the prints and colors are incredible and the pieces are so well crafted, I can already envision myself wearing everything! I'm a big believer in clothes bringing out confidence in women. Confidence we never knew was there to face that big interview, or mingle with the big shots or even go on that special first date! There's absolutely no excuse that a pair of amazing new heels or a killer dress can help us exude boldness but did you ever think that it could start with our undergarments?! A fantastic set of underwear can be what we women need for those insipid days. Designer, Brianna DeRose kept that exact idea in mind for  Well Kept Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection. Something I may have mentioned before, is that I'm a huge lingerie/ intimate apparel fanatic. I'm definitely a believer in the right base creating the look and confidence we want. Well Kept strive's to compose chic yet functional pieces that can be worn to the gym, a night out and where ever our legs take us! This collection is a curated group of fundamental basics of neutrals with luxurious knits and leathers. It combines two of my favorite categories, fitness wear and lingerie, a collection after my own heart!

Brianna DeRose's inspiration for the collection was 90s encouraged, think Clueless, Helmut Newton photography, and downtown urban. She wanted to create the perfect functional and supportive intimate apparel for women to feel and look gorgeous in their own skin. I feel this collection, definitely shows that! Unisex Chic

Omen Brand Inspiration by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

I recently discovered this new wickedly, amazing clothing line, Omen Brand. It's a clothing line for men and women alike, "unisexy!" It is founded by designer Keith Terrell Wiggins, who describes the collection as, "Simple garments that can be paired with other items in your wardrobe, yet strong enough to stand alone as a staple." Every piece in the Spring/Summer 2013 collection is a must have, I'm lusting over every piece! The collection is very reminiscent to Alexander Wang's earliest tee shirt collections, with the draping and the way the garments are stitched. The pieces are clearly versatile and allude an avant- garde essence, as does many unisex garments. A man can wear one of the t shirts and on a woman it can appear as a dress, and don't even get me started on the endless array of accessories that can be worn with them!

As soon as I found out that Omen Brand was a locally owned business in Philadelphia, I knew I had to get a peek at the collection first hand! Everything was just as beautiful in person and the designer, Keith is one in a million. A very humble artist who's dedicated to his craft, this is a trait in many great designers! I recently discovered this fantastic jewelry collection by Michelle Kim, The Hatters. The Hatters is a custom jewelry line designed by Kim as a way to show expressions through her medium of delicate wirework and chunky chains. She can even make the daintiest of rings with profanity look amazing!

The other day, I received one of Kim's gorgeous creations, a custom stamped necklace. I've been wearing it pretty much everyday since then! I love the versatility of it, I can pair it with 90% of my necklaces, especially the longer necklaces. What's really great about The Hatters collection is the customizing aspect. You can request for certain stones, chain lengths, phrases/ names, and metals.

If you guessed that my necklace would say Burgundy Whispers, then you guessed right! It just makes it feel more "official" when I'm wearing a piece of jewelry with the title! Lately, I've been spotting tons of beautiful people in one of Spring's hottest colors, mint! The color of a reminiscent seafoam, it lies between the blue and the green pastels on the colorwheel. This color reminds us of nature, it's calming essence that also signals youth. Designers Liz and Laura Rymer, ellelauri, definitely knocked that concept out of the park with their mint green collection, it exudes the right amount of adolescence, but still maintain it's flirty sophistication! Each piece in the collection have the perfect slew of versatility, everything in the line can be worn in many ways to cocktail rendezvous, family brunches, hot dates, music festivals and well, you name it!
