100 Years of Shoes

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

Shoes in a way are like a hobby of sorts, every pair is a collector's item. Each pair more different from height to structure, embellishment to texture and each causing a new sense of confidence and character to the wearer. I love shoes, shoes are my vice and i'm sure the same goes for many women across the globe! It has even been proven that shoes, for many women, triggers dopamine to the brain which makes so much sense with shoe addiction! Mode Studios recently released a video showcasing the shoe trends from the past century, starting from the 1900s to now. The shoe addict in me just squirmed with excitement!

Take a walk down memory lane with Mode Studios' latest video and reminisce about the shoes wore during that time. My style wasn't nearly as glamorous or fashionable as depicted in this video but it's still nice to see what the elites touted as trendy. I loved seeing  how quickly the styles evolved and morphed to what we see now, some are even coming back into style right now. My favorite of course, the Mary Jane platforms from the 50s, which is still in style now. I love taking that style and mixing it up with contemporary aesthetics.

Dear readers, after checking out the video, what style are you looking forward to resurrecting?
