The Holy Grail

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

As women, we go through so many products for our bodies, and hair. More specifically our HAIR! We all want the hair of our dreams, whether that means teasing it to the highest extent or blowing it out the smoothest pin straight style, it's all up the products we use to get it there. I know a lot of people that will tell me that I shouldn't need anything to put in my hair besides conditioner and shampoo, but let's get real! My hair, left to it's own devices would be just enough to scare babies away! Any women reading this with natural hair will understand my woes. The humidity also doesn't help, but this summer I've found a combination to help beat the frizz.

I wonder why we tend to leave a good thing to try something new, human nature I guess?! I recently revisited a few of my favorites from the past and quickly remembered why I loved them oh so much! I'm talking about Kinky Curly's Curling Custard and Knot Today and also Lush's R&B. This combination has been my go to this summer to tame the frizzies and keep my hair styled.

After washing and conditioning, I apply Knot Today while my my hair is still quite wet. I make sure to cover every strand in it, it's key in preventing frizz and maintaining some curl definition. After that I apply dollops of the Curling Custard to lock in the shape of the curl. I use the R&B moisturizer as a refresher for the days after my wash and as a pomade for my baby hairs. It also smells absolutely fantastic!

There you have it, my holy grails of holy grails for my best hair yet! If you have wavy, curly, kinky, hair that is naturally texturized I would recommend that you give this trio a go and see what it does for your mane. Dear readers, have you recently revisited old favorites that made you wonder why you left it in the first place?
