Geometric Chic

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

If someone asked you what is the best way of saying many things at once, without saying anything at all, what would your response be? Easy right?! "Smizing" like the great Tyra Banks, ok not really. I have this great love affair with anything fashion, fashion is what wakes me up in the morning, fashion is what gets me going through the day, but most importantly fashion allows me to speak without actually speaking! The beauty in everything from nature to architecture is how fashion has embedded itself into our every day lives, and one fashion designer is seeking to sync her designs with our modern day lives. Paula Hian, a Philadelphia local is speaking to the world without the use of words but rather her illustrious designs.

Fusing architecture and art, Paula Hian combines modern minimalist to the best effect. For the Fall/Winter 2016 collection PH plays with a minimal palette to create looks that an austere fashion critic would proudly prance around in. I love when a designer can create volumes with garments that don't hide the woman's body, but rather make it the center of attention in a bold way. As soon as I laid eyes on the collection my eyes drooled with excitement and I quickly imagined myself in every piece. As a black and white wardrobe lover this collection is graphic enough to meld into my minimalist wardrobe and mix and match up with other pieces I already own, which is the best part about fashion!

If you're looking for new designs to stalk, I definitely recommend Paula Hian. PH designs garments for women looking to emphasize their femininity and way of life in an eloquent statement, without ever saying a thing. Dear readers, how do you feel about Paula Hian's Fall/Winter 2016 collection?
