Beauty Bit, Mineral Fusion

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti
Conversational pieces or statement pieces are always welcomed into my wardrobe. No matter what season, a good statement nail look is always on the radar. What better time than summer to dress up our digits for all of the BBQs, vacations, and parties we will attend?! Summer is the season of bright and fun, since I tend to keep my wardrobe quite muted, making my nails look vibrant is a must! I'm not one for nail art, but I attempted it anyway. Fortunately, painting my paws with Mineral Fusion wasn't too bad!

C/O Mineral Fusion

Mineral Fusion started out in 2007 with a mission to offer the masses smarter makeup that also improves the skin while also being appropriate for all skin types, the most sensitive. Many of the products are handmade in the USA and infused with the power of minerals. With the goal being to leave the skin in better condition than before using Mineral Fusion, how can one say no to that?!

Mineral Fusion's nail polish collection is antioxidant- rich, 100% vegan formula, and free of harsh chemicals. One of my favorite things about their nail polishes is how opaque each color is, even the white based lacquers.

I'll admit I'm not the best with painting my nails in any interesting pattern, but I get so jealous looking at how other fashionistas can do it with such ease! I attempted it, and it actually came out pretty well! I used Mineral Fusion's Moonstone, Cashmere, and Rock Cress as the palette colors and used a piece from Flash Tattoo's Isabella set as the decal. I used a sponge (as seen in the video) to create the gradient design. Basically paint the colors in the order of the gradient you want on the sponge and then lightly pat it on the nail, do it as much as you want until you get the desired effect. The decal was cut out of one of Flash Tattoos set and it made for a great design. Mineral Fusion's gel top coat really makes your polish last and is quite chip resistant!

Mineral Fusion is definitely winning me over with their amazing lacquers, after a week my nails still look great as if I just had them done which is a big accomplishment for me. I'm constantly using my hands for everything, from washing dishes to potting plants. I need polishes that handle the day to day grind! Mineral Fusion's nail polishes get two thumbs up from me, they can be found at your local Whole Foods Market as well as other fine health food stores! Dear readers, what are go to nail polishes?
