Spring Scents

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

Spring is in the air, and I really mean Spring is in the air! I've culled through quite a few fragrances recently to make sure I've found the scent for the season, and I believe I have. Every season, as I adjust my wardrobe accordingly, I do the same with my fragrances. Lighter, brighter and more botanical scents to compliment the seasonal sun dresses and espadrilles! I've rounded up five of my favorites, check them out!

one/ two/ three/ four/ five

1 As a budding adult woman, I have reached a point where I knew it was time to bring out my ultra feminine side. That's where Chanel N*5 comes in! It's filled with hard notes of lush jasmine and roses that remind me of liquid gold. It also has an earthiness that wraps around the florals. This is truly a scent to be remembered by, sophistication at it's finest, or at least I like to think so!

2  Pinrose recently released a new scent to top all fragrances, Gilded Fox! With hints of buttered rum, chocolate notes and vetiver create a unique and elegant blend. Another plus with this perfume is that it's made in the USA and is made with the highest quality and contains no parabens or phtalates. I like to think of Gilded Fox as my potion, best worn with a "come hither" stare!

3  Decadent caramel, vanilla notes and exotic spices all come together to create a candy- like scent from Prada! Prada's Candy is pure pleasure wrapped in an impulsive charm, you can probably tell that I like to smell like sweet confections! Nothing more feminine than sugar and spice.

4  Spring is all about the florals but what if you mixed up with something quite unrelatable? Lolita Lempicka fuses notes of licorice, citrus and florals to create a beautiful day time scent perfect for work. Romantic and sensual, with hints of violets and pralines, a subtle combination of sensations that appeals to all of my senses.

5  Sometimes a playful scent is all that I want, some days I don't want to be seen as serious. Thanks to Gucci's Eau de Parfum II, I can smell like fruits and florals at the same time! With tons of sparkly notes from blackberries, violets, mandarin, blackcurrant, heliotrope and jasmine, it's one to be noticed. Tart and tangy, just like my soul!

Put away those woodsy, sandalwood, and musky scents and replace them now with lighter notes to welcome the new season. This Spring I'm complimenting my wardrobe in a whole new light and smell! Dear readers, have you tried any of these scents? what are your go to's for this season?
