#PhillyFoodie

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

Living in Philadelphia has it's perks, from no tax shopping to so many cultural outings to experience. From a long list of fantastic places to go and see, it truly is a great city to experience a lot of different things. Of course, Philadelphia is also known for its veritable choices of food. As a huge connoisseur of food, I take every opportunity to enjoy the options and tell my friends about it too. Philly has a zillion cuisines from Mediterranean to Ethiopian or Thai, there truly is no limit in this city. The only challenging feat is where to find all of these restaurants! Thanks to a wonderful new app called Zomato, it's not too difficult!

Zomato is an online and mobile restaurant discovery platform and social food network. It is available in 22 countries and over 500 cities, with engagement from users of all of them. I've been using it for a few months now and have discovered new restaurants that I never knew existed. Zomato gives me the chance to take food risks and quench this hungry little heart of mine!

Usually when I open the app on my phone, I either search through the breakfast/lunch/dinner option or the carefully curated categories collection. The app developers make it a habit of updating it every month because they want to make sure that the users are getting an updated menu, and listing of restaurants. It's quite a lot of work but I'm very grateful, or shall I say my stomach is very grateful for the updates! I frequently add my comments of my eatery experiences so that everyone using the app knows just how good, or bad it was.

So far I've discovered a handful of new restaurants through the app, one of my favorites being Bufad! An easy to miss, if you're not paying attention to the surroundings, artisanal pizzaria in the Callowhill section of Philadelphia. If you plan to download the app or already use it, add me and let's compare notes! Dear readers have you used Zomato? How do you discover new restaurants?
