Athletic Chic

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

Do you remember the first time you went swimsuit shopping? Do you remember feeling the dread and anticipation from it? I remember it like it was just yesterday, I needed something for my family vacation since I had just retired my old swimsuit which had a print with The Magic School Bus on it! As I approached a new and difficult phase of life, teenage years, I literally put away and donated anything that made me seem "babyish" because I wanted to prove to my family that I was mature and that I could be talked to as an adult! One of the tasks into "adulthood" was to get a sophisticated bathing suit, one that didn't scream out Hello Kitty, Barbie, or My Pretty Ponies.  The first swimsuit to make me feel like a lady was by RVCA

Made In America Fest

It's almost that time of the year, the unofficial end of Summer, Labor day weekend. Time to say good bye to those fabulous warm weathered adventures and fashions but one Summer time goodness still stands true, the music festivals! Music festivals are great because they provide you with many rhythmic choices. If you're not into one artist's music then you can walk over to the next tent, for another that meets your satisfaction. My favorite fact about music festivals is that it has a way to unify people. Genres are molded together in one place to bring people from all over to celebrate bliss with sweet beats. "Like minded people gather together." It's truly a beautiful thing! This Labor Day weekend, August 30-31st, in Philadelphia, the Budweiser Made In America Festival sets up shop for it's third consecutive year to showcase the hottest and latest in music right now!

Summer Prints

With summer coming to a close, the weather is getting to be cooler and cloudier. The days are much shorter and the humidity isn't nearly as burdensome! Don't let the nostalgia of summer trip you, enjoy it while you can! I'm going to enjoy it to the very end, with a ton of white separates, floral patterns and beautiful Philadelphian gardens!

Tastemakers, Nicole Richie

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti

Many of you may remember her for her role in the early reality show, The Simple Life. For me, Nicole Richie really shined through with her introduction of House of Harlow 1960, in 2008. It was her love for bohemian styled, costume jewelry that caught my attention and her effortless way of dressing like more than a socialite.

Jaw Jackin'

Illustrated by Jacqueline Davis Moranti, c. 2011

There comes a time when you turn on your music playlist and start skipping through songs, until you find one that has you wondering if you could create a playlist for that one song! Lately, I've found myself thinking this way. I would be at the gym, walking home, doing laundry, or even sketching at a park and contemplating that I just don't want to listen to anything at all. I am the biggest music lover, music has a way of helping one get through any situation and provide you with confidence with just the tiniest of lyrics! That's why when I felt like listening to nothing at all during a recent cardio session, I knew I needed new tunes! That's when I discovered Lapalux

Shoesday

You might remember my gushing about shoes in previous posts, shoes have a way of elevating any outfit and taking it to the next level! Shoes are definitely my favorite accessory and I was excited to find out that Nine West and InStyle were launching an exclusive Fall collection. Nine West never disappoints with their shoes and I'm sure this collection will be just as fantastic! There's always a shoe for every occasion!
