Fall to Spring.

Vest: Thrifted, Top & Skirt: Forever21, Belt, Bag, & Necklace: H&M, Rings: Forever21 and gifted, Boots: Minnetonka

Even though olive green is a fall color, I think you can get away with wearing it for any occasion, and any season you choose! You just need to know how to pair it with the right pieces, I feel this skirt is bright enough and very fun printed to liven it up.  A great, comfortable outfit, to merchandise in :p

One Little Dress...

I've taken this cute little dress from Forever21 and reinvented ways of wearing it. I hate wearing things how they're meant to be worn, unless it's something super dynamic by itself! The color of this dress is great especially for color blocking.

The major theme I was going for was the color blocked look, great for the warmer months. The first outfit (top- left) is great for a night out, the pink dress is worn underneath a teal mini skirt with a tassel belt to show off the waist and it also ties in the striped blazer. The look next to it, wears the dress under a button down top, in person, the pink in the blouse looks super similar to the dress, but the camera seems to make it look a lot lighter. It's a really casual feel outfit, the denim jacket also helps to fulfill that, and the necklace ties in the blue from the jacket. Great outfit for a day in the city with some friends. Bottom left outfit is a more sophisticated, pulled together look. Very office friendly and fun! A basic blue button down is worn over the little pink dress and then a very bright colored sweater over top of that. the belt helps to show off the waist and the scarf adds some more color to the outfit. The next outfit is a more bohemian look, my trademark looks... looking through my calendar to find an event to wear it to already! The LPD is worn under a black t- shirt and then a teal button down is thrown on top of it, unbuttoned. the belt helps to, once again show off those womanly curves! This outfit definitely called for a statement necklace!

So I was still feeling experimental and tried the LPD in another option. I have it worn under a sheer citron, maxi dress. In person, the pink of the dress shows through more than it does in this picture. I'd wear this to a date with a special someone!
Keep mixing and matching, readers!

Print on Print

via:KentonMagazine.com

One of the trends I'm really into is the prints and patterns on top of similar prints and patterns. Prada's S/S 2012 collection is all about it too!

These are ways of how I would wear the trend. The first image displays how I would wear my stripes together. I think it works really well because the top has horizontal stripes, while the skirt has vertical stripes, it makes the pattern play together in an interesting way. The second image, uses polka dots, I like to mix patterns of the same style in different, varying sizes. It makes for a much more fun outfit! With the last image, I played with the floral pattern. I love florals, it's one of my favorite prints, probably because its organic. The floral print is one of the harder prints to mix, the wrong combination and you could end up looking like a flower power disaster.  The key is to use similar colors.
How would you wear the trend?

On my casual days I tend to dress very "Hippy," as my Bf would say. I have to say, I kind of agree, it's the inner bohemian in me!

Grunge + Girly

I just wanted to show you how to take this very edgy jacket and wear it with something more feminine and girly to give this jacket diverse ways to wear. I'm so sick of seeing black on black as if it's the only way to wear a leather jacket!

This outfit consists of a multi color sweater of brown-hued stripes with a box- pleated khaki skirt. I'd finish it of with my Shoemint taupe Jollys. I tied the look together with a knotted silver chain, it makes the jacket stand out even more with this feminine, preppy outfit. You could wear this to class, to an early lunch date or even a concert.

The jacket in this outfit is paired with a black, velvet bodysuit, cream pleated maxi skirt and a wide silver belt. The silver accessories, like the necklace and the belt help to tie the look together with the jacket, which is key, if you threw in gold accented accessories, it would look out of place. You always want the accents on the clothing item to match your accessories. This outfit is very ballerina- esque, it would be a great outfit for a late date. I'd pair this up with a pair of caged heels.

On another note, my recent week has been so hectic, working overnights to complete a floor set really starts to take a toll on you. I haven't ad the time to take many outfit pictures, most of them were jeans and a sweater anyways.

                                                                   Xoxo,
                                                                            Jacqui
